Gabriel Reyes is pursuing a PhD in Developmental and Psychological Sciences at Stanford University as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar. Their research broadly explores the impact of poverty on the cognitive and behavioral development of children and adolescents, aiming to integrate scientific research with practical applications to alleviate poverty. An Echoing Green and Roddenberry Fellow, Gabriel is the founder and CEO of FLi Sci, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping first-generation/low-income (FLi) students pursue careers in science. Originally from Albuquerque, and raised in poverty by Mexican immigrants, Gabriel became the first in their family to pursue higher education, earning an honors ScB in Cognitive Neuroscience from Brown University and an MS in Neuroscience & Education from Columbia University as a QuestBridge and Gates Millennium Scholar.
