Australia
Patrick is an Australian global health researcher and paediatric doctor who is passionate about health equity. His primary area of interest is neonatal care in resource-constrained settings, where he works to reduce mortality by implementing low-cost, effective healthcare-level interventions targeted at addressing gaps in newborn care. He has conducted research projects in Australia and sub-Saharan Africa, most recently working on an automated oxygen delivery system for preterm infants in Nigeria, and concurrently leading a mixed-methods project into how respiratory support is used in Nigerian special care nurseries. As a 2024 Quad Fellow, Patrick will pursue a Master of Public Health at Harvard University, focusing on global health and maternal & child health. Outside of work, Patrick is a keen pianist, playing in a band and enjoying playing solo gigs where he can, and is also an avid reader of novels both in English and Spanish.
