Nicholas works to improve how we plan and operate a decarbonized energy system. In September, he will commence a PhD at the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society at MIT. Using mathematical tools and drawing on ideas from systems theory and economics, his goal is to create a stronger theoretical framework for the design of low-emission power grids. For his undergraduate studies in physics and engineering at the University of Queensland, he was awarded first-class honors and a University Medal. Nicholas is an avid reader and outdoor enthusiast, and most of all, as a husband and father, he loves to spend time with his family.
