Shravika Mittal is a first-year Ph.D. in Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology. She is interested in understanding how and why technology-mediated interactions occur to inform the creation of safe and equitable sociotechnical systems. Some of her efforts have been recognized by the Rising Star Doctoral Student Research Award from Georgia Tech's College of Computing. Prior to her Ph.D., Shravika completed her undergraduate studies at IIIT-Delhi and was awarded the Chancellor’s Gold Medal. She also worked at Adobe, India to make the Illustrator tool more accessible for creative professionals. Shravika is an advocate for diversity and inclusion and embraces this perspective to address the stigmatization of marginalized communities in mass communication, social media, and AI systems.
