Stanley Tan is an environmental scientist pursuing his PhD at Yale University and the New York Botanical Garden, where he is also a recipient of the Lewis B. Cullman Fellowship. Fascinated by the incredible diversity of life in tropical forests, he uses field experiments and computational techniques to study the influence of plant-microbe interactions on plant diversity. Through his research, he also strives to illuminate the impacts of anthropogenic activities and environmental policies on the health and ecosystem services of tropical forests. Previously, he worked at the UN Climate Change Secretariat and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from Yale-NUS College at the National University of Singapore.
