Stefan Thottunkal is a medical student at Macquarie University. He graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Health Science (Hons I). He is a public servant at the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Research Officer at the ANU. He has several publications in the fields of epidemiology, health policy and implementation science. Stefan has worked on high impact projects conducted in collaboration with the WHO Global Outbreak and Response Network, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation. He is passionate about employing systems approaches and fostering meaningful collaboration to improve the translation of research findings into impactful policy and practice changes. This led him to establish Diverge, a initiative that researches unmet needs and policy gaps for underrepresented communities. Stefan is looking forward to pursuing a Master of Science in Community Health and Prevention Research at Stanford University.
